PICKERINGTON, Ohio — The American Motorcyclist Association is pleased to announce recent additions to its board of directors.
On Oct. 17 at the AMA National Convention in Orlando, Fla., Jeff Skeen was elected as an at-large individual member representative during the annual AMA member meeting.
During the AMA business member meeting later that day, Robert Pearce was elected to a full term as a business member representative. Earlier this year, Pearce was appointed to the board to serve the remainder of departing business member representative Sean Hilbert’s term.
In addition, business member representative Paul Puma was elected to hold the seat being vacated by John Ulrich. Ulrich’s term-limited position on the board expires in February 2015.
“It’s my pleasure to welcome Jeff, Robert and Paul to the AMA Board of Directors,” said AMA Board Chair Maggie McNally-Bradshaw. “I’m confident that I speak for all my fellow directors when I express our appreciation for their commitment, as well as our anticipation of their contributions going forward.
“Although John will continue serving the AMA board through February 2015, I also want to take this opportunity to thank him for his tireless service to the AMA,” McNally-Bradshaw added. “Few grasp the intricacies of both professional and amateur road racing as John, and his contributions to the board have been extensive and long lasting. He will be greatly missed.”
Skeen is CEO of Affinity Development Group.
“I am thrilled to be part of the AMA,” Skeen said. “I hope to help the AMA continue to build member benefits that will attract and retain members. Every motorcycle and powersports enthusiast should belong.”
Puma is vice president of GE Capital, Commercial Distribution Finance Division.
“It is my pleasure to serve on the AMA Board of Directors and contribute to the association’s goals of protecting and promoting the motorcycle lifestyle,” Puma said. “Motorcycling is an important part of my life, and I understand what it means to others. I’m looking forward to contributing toward the future growth of the AMA and strengthening its role as the premier motorcycling advocacy organization.”
Pearce is KTM North America’s vice president of operations.
“I am very pleased to have just been nominated to be on the AMA Board of Directors,” Pearce said. “Now being elected, I will rise to the challenge of this position. I look forward to fulfilling the current strategic plan, which has been set forth by the board, and will do my best to help achieve these goals.”
The AMA Board of Directors meets regularly to discuss broad policy for the association, including crafting AMA position statements on important issues and ratifying rules of AMA-sanctioned competition written by AMA Congress delegates. Board members represent both individual members and business members.
