American Nicky Wimbauer Wins German Club Races At Hockenheim

Nicky Wimbauer takes double win in the 24th. ADAC Tourist Trophy Race of Hockenheim American Young Gun Nicky Wimbauer (18) took his Yamaha Germany R6-Cup bike to a double win over the past weekend in the 24th. ADAC Rundstreckenpokal of Hockenheim. This was a test race for the Team Zweirad Stadler/ProTech rider before the upcoming first round of the Yamaha R6-Cup race in Hockenheim. Little Nicky was leading both races from start to finish and showed great potential on his Cup R6. “I am glad we had the chance to test the bike and Dunlop tires under race conditions here at Hockenheim,” commented Wimbauer. “It’s good to have the right support and environment for this season and I had a blast riding the new R6. We are focusing now on next weekend’s opener of the International German Championship in Hockenheim and hope to find another second for the ultra-competitive R6 Cup. I had a lot of fun meeting many Americans here in Heidelberg and other riders for the European racing scene.” Nicky Wimbauer, a former Colorado MRA and WERA National Challenge Series Champion has moved to Europe in 2004 to gain more racing experience and is working for Jaegn Products, the German importer of American Troy Lee Designs Products.
