Kawasaki Motor Corp. U.S.A. R+D Test Rider Derek Keyes Will Re-Join Kawasaki Team 38 for the 2012 Suzuka 8 Hours Race The 2011 Suzuka 8 Hour race was a historical event for Kawasaki Team 38. With the addition of American rider Derek Keyes the team competed for the first time in its long history at Suzuka with an international rider. While the team experienced some difficulties during the race, every member was pleased with their “never give up” efforts and 24th place finish. This year Kawasaki Team 38 has invited American Rider Derek Keyes to rejoin the team and looks forward to improving on last year’s result! Derek Keyes: “I am very excited to have this opportunity again! Last year was a great experience and I learned so much from this great team of guys. This project is more than just race results for us. We are working hard to improve our relationship and understanding of each other. I believe in the long run that projects like this will help us on the R+D side to enhance our future products by improving communication, understanding and trust between the Japanese and U.S. groups. Beyond all else, it really is a lot of fun!”
