Joe Roberts makes succesful test with an all new 125GP machine KTM rookies cup rider (and race winner in Brno) Joe Roberts was invited to test this past Friday [August 26] the all new MIC125GP machine on a track near Barcelona, Spain. This machine, built by Anscari Nadal, two-stroke enthusiast and team owner, used Joe as a test rider for one day. Anscari called Matt Roberts, Joe’s father, after the great win at the Czech GP and made the necessary arrangements. As there were no big tracks available they finally chose a small track called “Alcarrà s”, in the south of Barcelona. “The team has good data there, we have tested with many riders but since now Joe performed the best lap times and more reliable feedback so far. Joe has a lot of potential and with more practice and a few more years experience he can make it to MotoGP,” said Nadal. Joe made a successful 41 laps at the track including a small crash. He ended the day by making his best time in his last 3 laps! “I like this bike! I do like this bike!” said a smiling Joe. “The engine has an instant throttle response and the carburetor we tested made it even better. After the team made some minor adjustments to the suspension I have been able to made my best lap times.” The team is so happy with his performance that it is now thinking about giving Joe the chance to race the MIC125GP bike next October at the European final 125GP round to be held at Albacete circuit (in southern Spain). * MIC125GP stands for: Made in Catalonia 125cc Grand Prix machines.
