SHELINA MOREDA STRUGGLES BUT GETS HER BEST FINISH IN THE LARRS SERIES WITH A 4TH PLACE IN QATAR.

At the 4th round of the Qatar Superbike Championship (QSBK) held March 20th and 21st at the Losail International Circuit on the outskirts of Doha, Even though she struggled with bike set up and getting back to her lap times from her previous visit, Shelina raced to her best series result with the QMMF Racing Team in the Losail Asian Road Racing Series (LARRS) on a circuit provided Yamaha R6. This round was held in conjunction with MotoGP and is the first time Shelina has ever raced at night.

After qualifying in 4th place for LARRS and 22nd overall with QSBK machines which put her on the inside of the 8th row on the combined grid, Shelina slipped backwards to 6th in LARRS and overall to 24th in Race 1. For Race 2 she was able to make progress and got 4th in the LARRS and 18th overall and has moved into 6th place in the 5 round series with 45 points.

Shelina Moreda – Team QMMF #218:

“After going the wrong way with the bike set-up and trying to work my way back into the suspension’s working range, I had some pretty big arguments with the bike. I was really frustrated that I missed the podium, but happy with the 4th and stoked I got to race under the lights in the Arabian Desert as it was like nothing else!!”

“I have to thank my mechanic Agus not only for his work on the bike but also for pushing me to just ride the bike. Got some pep talks from some racers I respect and that really helped. I appreciate that Team QMMF believes in me enough to have me compete in this competitive series.”

“I had a phenomenal weekend – from riding quads in the desert with QMMF’s Moto2 Rider, Anthony West, and the other girl racers, Viktoria and Manca, from the QMMF Racing Team, to spending nights riding an awesome track, and then getting to hang out for the Moto GP opening weekend. I’m looking forward to being home after several weeks competing on everything from a flat-tracker to a AMA Pro Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson to an R6, both in the U.S. and here in Qatar. But first! – I’m off to do some training in Spain!!”

Shelina Moreda would like to thank her sponsors: Team QMMF, www.ChiliPepperRacing.com, BMC Racing, She’z Racing, GP Fabrication, AXO, Arai, Vance & Hines, Finish Line Fitness, G&B Motorsports, Go Pro, and Impact Safe-T-Armor.
