American World Endurance Racer Gruy Injured In Streetbike Crash In Italy

Serious Road Accident for Will Gruy Participation in Suzuka 8 Hour At Risk for the American Rider Bad luck has hit Will Gruy. The young American Amadeus X One rider was the victim of a serious road accident near Civitavecchia, 50 miles north west of Rome, on the evening of Thursday the 14th of June. Riding his street bike, Gruy was injured after hitting the ground while trying to avoid colliding with a car at a road junction. He suffered a compound fracture of the pelvis which required a surgical operation on Wednesday the 20th of June. The Texan rider faces a long and difficult convalescence and recovery, but the team are hoping that he will be fit for the Suzuka 8 Hour Japanese round of the World Endurance Championship on the 19th of July.
