DANVILLE, VA Promoters of the Suzuki Big Kahuna Nationals, featuring the AMA Superbike Championship presented by Parts Unlimited, scheduled for the weekend of August 15-17 at VIRginia International Raceway, have signed with Foremost Insurance as the Official Insurance of the Big Kahuna. “Foremost is proud to be the official insurance sponsor for the 2008 Suzuki Big Kahuna AMA Superbike Championship presented by Rockstar Energy Drink, Dunlop and Makita,” said Randy Slotten, Foremost Insurance Director of Marketing. “We are strong supporters of AMA racing and appreciate the opportunity to be a part of events like this one at VIRginia International Raceway, which showcase motorcycle racing and the riders who’ve made it popular. “The Suzuki Big Kahuna event has grown to be one of the biggest races in the AMA Superbike Championship series, and we are excited about sponsoring such a popular event at one of the top tracks in America,” added Slotten. “At Foremost, we understand that many motorcycle enthusiasts enjoy motorcycle racing and that is why we support exceptional events like the Suzuki Big Kahuna and teams like LeoVince Foremost Insurance Ducati Team and the Foremost Insurance Suzuki Team,” stated Randy Slotten, Director of Marketing, Foremost Insurance. “I am really excited about this new partnership with Foremost and look forward to growing with them for many years to come,” said event promoter Cameron Gray. “We keep looking for more and better ways to enhance both a rider’s experience and the show we put on for fans. We’re looking forward to growing our business with them for years to come.” Foremost is also the title sponsor for Larry Pegram’s Ducati race team, adding their backing of the event to the team sponsorship. While the main attraction is on the track, the Big Kahuna offers fans far more than mere on-track thrills. An exhibit of vintage race motorcycles is planned, with these history-making machines taking parade laps of the track. Some of the riders of historic race bikes have planned to attend, making this one of the most interesting gatherings of vintage bikes for the year. The historics aren’t the only off-track attraction though, with live music, displays, vendors and lots more all there for the enjoyment of guests. Plan now to attend the 2008 Big Kahuna Nationals. Previous Big Kahuna Nationals have produced some of the biggest racing thrills seen and this year’s race promises to be even better. About M1 Entertainment: At M1 Entertainment, our goal is to provide fans with more than just a motorcycle race. Our events include extra attractions and entertainment for the whole family, creating a truly unique experience for the devoted fan and the beginning spectator. To that end, we are always ready to listen to the people to help make our events even better. M1 Entertainment is best known as the creator and promoter of the Honda Superbike Classic at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. For 10 years, the Honda Superbike Classic was one of the most successful motorcycle events in the U.S., drawing close to 100,000 fans over the three-day schedule. It was the only event in the world to combine the World Superbike series on the same weekend. Other notable M1 Entertainment events have included The Big Kahuna Nationals at Road Atlanta (1998-2000), The Reno Supermoto Classic in 2004 and the Red Bull Supermoto A-Go-Go in 2005. Our current events include the Suzuki CycleFest (2003-present) in Copper Mountain, Colorado, and the awesome Suzuki Big Kahuna Nationals at VIRginia International Raceway – our inaugural event taking place in August of 2005 with five more years under contract through 2010. A Denver-based company, M1 Entertainment has been working in motorsports for 15 years. Originally spawned from Daniels Corporation under the name FAST, the fledgling company was heavily involved in television production for car and motorcycle racing. With the birth of Speedvision in 1995, FAST took an advertising sales and event promotion, in addition to television production duties. Now under the umbrella of Fox Television Networks, Speed Channel (formerly Speedvision) is thriving. FAST morphed into M1 Entertainment (Race Promotion Management) and now is operating as M1 Entertainment with many of the same staff still in place. We still sell advertising for Speed Channel and promote our own events, keeping us busy year-round.
