Boynton Beach, FL Apex Race Services owners Tim Hunt and Leigh Anna Svitlik are proud to announce their plans for the 2013 Road Racing season. This announcement comes at the close of a very successful 2012 season of running three of America’s best road racing series, AMA Pro Road Racing, WERA National Sprints/Endurance and the CCS Florida series.

Tim Hunt, a five-time National Champion will again be racing in the WERA Nationals along with 2012 riders Kat Zimpel and Gavin Elstad, but will be joined by two new riders for the 2013 and 2014 seasons. Both Zimpel and Elstad won National and Regional Championships this year and they look for continued success in 2013.

Hayden Schultz is a 15-year-old up-and-coming racer from Arkansas. He was able to race a few rounds of the WERA Nationals with Team Apex. During his time with the Apex team, Hayden won several races against some of the best talent in the country. Hayden will be racing both WERA National Sprint and WERA National Endurance series as well as a few rounds of AMA Pro Racing Super Sport, after he turns 16.

Matt Schrag is the second new rider to join the team. He competed in the 2012 AMA Pro Racing Super Sport class in eight events and had some great results for a first-time rider in the series. In addition to racing the entire WERA Nationals and WERA Endurance series, he also plans to compete in a select number of AMA Pro Racing Super Sport races to prepare for the 2014 AMA Pro Road Racing series.

Apex Race Services is excited for the 2013 season as we have implemented the YRDP (Young Rider Development Program). This program provides not just equipment and track support to racers, but deals with diet, physical training, and coaching both on the track and off. We are proud to have selected this very talented team of riders for the 2013 and 2014 seasons. This lineup will give us a great cross section of racing exposure for our sponsors and supporters.

We would like to thank the sponsors that have come on board again for 2013. Many thanks to Arai Helmets, GPR Stabilizers, Dunlop Race Tires, Hotbodies, Vortex, HEL, Moto-Heaven.com and Ballistik Motorcycle Apparel.

Tim Hunt: “We are so excited to have this team assembled for 2013. The talent of this group is off the charts!! I am honored that they would all place their faith in Leigh and I to guide them through these years in their career, and we look forward to taking them to that next level.”

Leigh Anna Svitlik: “With implementing this new program, (YRDP), there was obviously some nervousness. But after a great first weekend of training at Jennings GP as a team, I have nothing but excitement for 2013.”

Kat Zimpel: “Working with Apex Services in 2012 was very rewarding and satisfying. KATRA and APEX teamed up for WERA National Endurance challenge, with podium finish each time, placed 4th in class, missing 2 out of 4 rounds. In 2013 we are planning to attend full WERA National series with strong team! I’m excited and looking forward to work with Tim Hunt and his upcoming talented APEX racers!”

Hayden Schultz: “I’m really excited to be part of the team. I’m looking forward to what we can do this year in both endurance and sprints, and can’t thank Tim and Leigh enough for the opportunity.”

Matt Schrag: “I’m really excited to have the chance to ride for Apex Race Services this year with Hayden Schulz, Kat Zimpel and Tim Hunt. I didn’t have much road racing experience before joining the AMA and running most of the SuperSport rounds last year. I learned a ton, but want to focus this year on really working on my race craft with Tim and training with Hayden and Kat. I think that running the WERA National Endurance and Sprint championships will really help me get the experience I need to go back to the AMA and be a top contender.”
