MOTO-ST Practice Notes Saturday April 14, 2007 9:00 a.m. Pace Car leads bikes out on track to begin Saturday morning’s 90 minute SunTrust MOTO-ST practice session. 9:03 a.m. Field receives green flag. Conditions are sunny with some cloud cover and a slight breeze. 9:15 a.m. Fifteen minutes into the session the fastest three overall, and in the Buell Motorcycle Company SuperSport Twins (SST) class are the No. 32 Vallely Racing Suzuki SV1000S ridden by Josh Day with a time of 1:30.492, the No. 18 Roadracingworld.com Suzuki SV1000S ridden by Michael Barnes with a time of 1:30.660, and the No. 76 R&R Racing Aprilia Tuono 1000R ridden by Dave Estok with a time of 1:31.401. Fastest in the BMW Grand Sport Twins (GST) class is the No. 77 Touring Sport Ducati PS1000LE ridden by Pete Friedland with a time of 1:37.192. Fastest in the Sport Twins (ST) class is the GoBigRacing Suzuki SV650 ridden by Ross Millson with a time of 1:37.428. 9:30 a.m. the No. 77 Ducati has improved its fastest time in GST to a 1:36.470 and sits 15th overall. The No. 79 Suzuki has also improved to a 1:36.260 and is 14th overall. Twenty-nine bikes have recorded times. 9: 45 a.m. Halfway through the session the No. 18 Suzuki is now fastest overall with a time of 1:30.253 recorded by Chris Ulrich. Millson has lowered his time on the No. 79 Suzuki to a 1:36.242. 9:51 a.m. There are reports of debris from an exhaust on the track surface at the exit of turn 8. The session is red flagged to retrieve the debris. 9:59 a.m. The session is ready to resume. The pace car leads 20 bikes back onto the track. 10:01 a.m. Green flag to restart the session. 10:04 a.m. The No. 6 Aprilia USA Aprilia Tuono 1000R records a time of 1:30.371 to move into second overall and in the SST class. 10:06 a.m. The No. 6 Aprilia lowers its time to 1:30.225, but remains second overall as Barnes on the No. 18 Suzuki drops his best time to a 1:30.202. The No. 46 San Jose BMW R1200 moves into third overall with a time of 1:30.322 recorded by Brian Parriott. 10:07 a.m. The No. 6 Aprilia drops its time to a 1:30.214, still second overall. 10:09 a.m. The No. 46 BMW lowers its time to a 1:30.235, still third overall. There are reports of the No. 98 Team Lady Luck MZ1000 stopping on the circuit. After being briefly pushed by the rider the bike resumes. 10:16 a.m. The No. 6 Aprilia, with Howard aboard, drops its best time to a 1:29.601. 10:27 a.m. The No. 46 BMW receives the white flag for one lap remaining in the session. 10:28 a.m. Checkered flag on the No. 46 BMW to end the session. Top five overall and in SST are the No. 6 Aprilia USA Aprilia Tuono 1000R with a 1:29.601 recorded by Howard, the No. 18 Roadracingworld.com Suzuki SV1000S with a 1:30.202 recorded by Barnes, the No. 46 San Jose BMW R1200 with a 1:30.235 recorded by Parriott, the No. 32 Vallely Racing Suzuki SV1000S with a 1:30.492 recorded by Day, and the No. 76 R&R Racing Aprilia Tuono 1000R with a 1:30.616 recorded by Estok.
