AMA Pro racer Tommy Aquino, now riding for the SGA Racing/Yamaha Champions Riding School team, would like to thank Keith McCarty, Chuck Graves and the whole Yamaha crew for the past three years of association. After placing 3rd in the Daytona Sportbike Championship in 2011 and having his best career finishes, Tommy will not be returning to YES/Graves/Yamaha in 2012. Tommy will be racing in the Daytona 200 for SGA Racing/Yamaha Champions Riding School team and is grateful to owner Charlie Grannon for this opportunity to race in the U.S. In Europe, Tommy is moving on to the CEV Championship (owned by Dorna) in Spain on the Wilmax team. This will be a 7 race series in addition to 4-5 Wild Card spots in Moto2 GP. Tommy would also like to thank his sponsors Cortech Leathers & Shoei Helmets for supporting him in this transition in addition to his new sponsor Mechanix Wear.
