Tommy Aquino, David Gaviria, Benny Solis and Stefano Mesa are looking forward to getting back to New Jersey Motorsports Park. Last year, Stefano Mesa raced as an AMA Pro for only the second time at NJMP and managed to work his way into the top 10. Benny Solis ran a solid race and finished in fourth place, while current teammate David Gaviria landed on the podium with a 3rd place finish in the Supersport class. Tommy Aquino won at NJMP in 2011 in the Daytona SportBike class, and after a solid test at Williow Springs International Raceway last weekend the whole team is ready to unleash the beast at the American Red Cross Devil’s Showdown. It’s only been 4 weeks since Austin Dehaven had surgery on his foot. He participated in the team’s test last week, and the decision was made to sit this one out and return to racing at Homestead. Dave Brite, Team Owner: “I’m really looking forward to this weekend. We tested at Willow and everything went well. Tommy hopped on the bike and came out of the test extremely confident. He rode well at New Jersey last year, and I think he has the chance to be on the box again. To be honest, I think all of these guys have a chance to run up front this weekend. Benny and Dave have run well here, and Stefano still has a shot at winning a championship.” Tommy Aquino: “I think everyone likes New Jersey. It’s a fun track that you can race hard at. It really flows. Laguna was the first time that I met the Kneedraggers.com/Triplecrown team, and since then we’ve tested at another track. I think Robert and Dave really know their stuff. Testing gave us the opportunity to make some adjustments from Laguna, and I feel really good about going into this weekend.” Benny “Benito” Solis: “I’m ready for this weekend. I feel good, and I was here last year so I know the track. I also recently spent time testing on my bike. It felt great, so I’m pretty excited and I know it will go well for us.” David Gaviria: “I’m always looking forward to a race. I came to this team about half way through the season, and each race we learn a little more and get better at what we are trying to do. New Jersey should keep us on that pace.” Stefano Mesa: “I have a chance to win the championship, but to do that I have to win the next 3 races. So I’m a little nervous going into this weekend. It’s a track I like but have really not had good luck at. I think this year will be different. We still have a shot to win and that keeps me excited.” Kneedraggers.com provides the highest standards for selection, quality and price competitiveness and takes pride in giving Sportbike enthusiast what they want while leaving more cash in your pocket.
