Geoff May stood out at the 15th annual Paul Farrell Memorial race weekend at Virginia International Raceway with the Championship Cup Series and AMA sanctioned ASRA Championship series presented by Pirelli Tire on his Kawasaki ZX-10R, taking home four first place finishes. May started the weekend chasing Frankie Babuska, Jr., in the GTO race after working his way through traffic, and came close to the leader, but finished second. May was back out to battle early race leader Babuska again in the Unlimited SuperSport race, and was able to take over the advantage and claim his first victory of the weekend.

On Sunday, May started the day with another win after nabbing and early lead and dominating the ASRA SuperStock race. He was back out front again to take home another victory in the Unlimited Grand Prix race, after taking over the lead from holeshot winner Tyler Smathers. May was out front by lap two and methodically began to work his way around the track and eventually through lapped traffic. He was out front and untouchable in the Unlimited SuperBike race to claim his fourth and final victory of the weekend.

Greg Melka and Ricky O’Hare dominated the middleweight classes as the frontrunners with some of the most outstanding competition of the weekend, continuously swapping positions and battling for the lead. O’Hare was the winningest expert of the weekend with five first place finishes and two seconds (to Melka). O’Hare won the GTU, Middleweight SuperSport, Middleweight SuperBike, Middleweight Grand Prix, and ASRA SportBike races on his Absolute Cycles Yamaha YZF-R6. Melka won the Heavyweight SuperSport and Heavyweight SuperBike races on his Michelin shod Pro-Flow Yamaha YZF-R6 and finished just behind O’Hare in the remainder of his classes. He is also the current Overall Points leader in both the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast CCS regions. O’Hare is leading the points in the Atlantic region.

Jeremy Whitehurst was the winningest amateur of the weekend, running undefeated and dominating the unlimited classes on his Bauce Racing/Metric Devil Moto Yamaha YZF-R1. He took home five first place trophies for Amateur GTO and Unlimited SuperSport races on Saturday, and the Unlimited Grand Prix, Unlimited SuperBike and ASRA SuperStock races on Sunday.

The CCS Mid-Atlantic region will compete next at Summit Point Circuit June 24-25th, for a Twin Sprints weekend. The CCS Southeast region will meet again August 26-27th, at Roebling Road Raceway for a regional event with Florida region. And, the next ASRA event is scheduled for July 1-2nd, at Road America.
