This coming weekend, September 22-23, the American Sportbike Racing Association (ASRA) and Championship Cup Series (CCS) will host racing at Blackhawk Farms Raceway in South Beloit, Illinois. The track is located 2 hours northwest of Chicago, 15 minutes off of I90. Racers will take to the 1.95 mile, seven turn course as they compete in a wide variety of classes.
This is the season finale for CCS Mid-west. With double points being awarded this weekend there are more than 40 class championships, as well as both Expert and Amateur overall championships yet to be decided. In addition to the CCS races, this is the penultimate round of the ASRA sprint series presented by Pirelli tire.
Gates open Friday at 5 p.m. ASRA/CCS registration and tech will be open Friday from 5-7 p.m. Saturday riders take to track competing in CCS races and ASRA qualifying. Saturday night will be the annual Red Flag Fund auction. The fund serves to help injured riders and the auction is the biggest revenue source.
Sunday, the action continues with a full slate of races scheduled. The ASRA sprint races will take place just after the lunch break and will be followed by CCS sprint races to finish the weekend.
Starting on Friday, tickets for a weekend pass are only $35, reduced to $25 on Saturday, and just $15 on Sunday. The gate will be operated 24 hours.
