Valentino Rossi signed Fiat Yamaha Pit Shirt Auction A Success. Halifax, NS A Fiat Yamaha Pit Shirt signed by Valentino Rossi and auctioned by the Injured Racers Association of Atlantic Canada has raised an astounding $7500. After an intense bidding war, three local Halifax business men got together and made a joint bid of $7500. Fred Levy of Mod-U-Form Foundations, Paul Chappell of Walter Chappell Well Drilling, and Jack Conrad of Burnside Windows and Doors all came together to support Charlie Legere and the Injured Racers Association. The group has decided Fred will keep the shirt once framed, which will nicely compliment his limited edition, autographed Valentino Rossi replica Yamaha YZF-R1. On September 6, 2010, Charlie had an accident during a test day at Atlantic Motorsport Park, resulting in a broken neck and femur. As a result of the broken neck he suffered a spinal cord injury, leaving him paralyzed from the chest down. Legere is currently in the Nova Scotia Rehab Center making excellent progress, though he faces a long road to recovery. All 3 men and their companies will also be contributing to the construction of Charlie’s new home which is being constructed to meet Charlie’s needs when he leaves Rehab. The Injured Racers Association of Atlantic Canada would like to thank Fred, Paul and Jack for their bids and charitableness. Inside Motorcycles also made a sizable donation that we would like to sincerely thank them for. All the best in the New Year from the Injured Racers Association of Atlantic Canada.
