AUCTIONS AT WERA GNF TO BENEFIT GOOD CAUSES Two benefits to racers at racetracks will be beneficiaries of auctions at the WERA GNF next week. Vicki Sulpy–AKA Photo Chick– is hosting a silent auction this week ending at the GNF to benefit the Red Flag Fund (~http://www.redflagfund.org/~). Vicki has many good items and can be accessed via the WERA BBS (~http://forums.13x.com/showthread.php?t=267561~). Her totals are already closing in on $1500 with another week to go. Chaplain Tim Burleson from MRO will host the third annual auction to benefit the ministry of Motor Racing Outreach to the road racing community. The MRO auction has items ranging from leathers and a helmet from 2009 AMA Pro Daytona Sportbike Champion and 2010 Championship runner-up Danny Eslick; leathers, boots and gloves from the first woman in the modern era to win an AMA Pro event, Elena Myers; leathers from VIR AMA Pro Daytona SportBike race winner Bobby Fong; autographed boots from AMA Pro Daytona SportBike pole-sitter and WERA “kid” Tommy Aquino; and a new, never-worn set of leathers from Pegram Motorsports that will fit someone in the 6’1″ to 6’3″ area. This auction also has autographed items from the three Hayden brothers and their father Earl. Both auctions still have other items coming, so check the WERA BBS to support the Red Flag Fund and check out the table in WERA registration for the MRO auction. Chaplain Tim’s auction will end at 5:00 PM SATURDAY instead of Sunday. Vicki’s auction will also end Saturday evening. So get your bids in to have someone look after you off the track or after an injury.
