On Wednesday 18th June Russell Holland made an agreement with the HANNspree Honda Althea team to complete the season with them in place of injured rider Tommy Hill. “The Hannspree Honda Althea team spoke to me after Nurburgring about completing the season with them”, said Russell Holland. “My focus has been in World Superbike up to now and with the DFX Bertocchi team we’ve achieved a number of top 15 finishes which I am proud of considering the competition this year. However after speaking with DFX Bertocchi we agreed that racing with the Hannspree Honda Althea team in supersport provides the best opportunity for me to finish the year in a competitive position. I have had great support from my crew in DFX Bertocchi this year and I wish them the best for the remainder of the season. I must thank DFX Bertocchi for supporting this move and releasing me to the Hannspree Honda Althea team and I am now looking forward to making this jump to Supersport. I know it is a close and strong field and I’m very excited about this new challenge and the opportunity to race with Honda in the established team of Althea Honda. See you in Misano!” Russell Holland’s career highlights 1998: Career Start (14 age) 2002: Australian 250GP: 1° 2005: Australian Superbike Championship: (Honda CBR 1000RR), 12° 2006: Australian Superbike Championship: Robern Racing Honda Pirelli (Honda CBR 1000RR), 2° (1° Privateers Cup) 2007: Australian Superbike Championship: Teknic Honda Australia (Honda CBR 1000RR), 6° Australian Supersport Championship: Teknic Honda Australia (Honda CBR 600RR), 5° FIM World Endurance 8 ore di Suzuka: Sakurai Honda (Honda CBR 1000RR) 2008: FIM World Superbike Championship: DFX-Bertocchi Team (Honda CBR 1000RR 2008), 14 races (best result: 9°, Race 2 Phillip Island) Special thanks to Arlen Ness, OGK Helmets, W2 Boots
