As of today, Monday 28th June, Jason O’Halloran has parted company with the Oxford TAG Triumph team. Having held lengthy discussions with his management and family Jason has taken this decision to give him the best possible chance of getting his season back on track. Despite a good opening round fourth place finish at Brands Hatch, the team have struggled to find a balance and set up to give the young Australian the confidence required to run at the front in a very competitive field. After sustaining injuries earlier in the season, Jason has worked hard over recent weeks to ensure his full fitness, focusing on a return to Mallory Park and to achieve a good result. However, Jason suffered a mechanical failure mid way through the race and was forced to retire, bringing to an end what had been a disappointing and frustrating weekend. Commenting Jason said “Leaving a team is always difficult but the decision had to be made as I just felt my season wasn’t going in the direction I was hoping for with TAG Triumph.” Further details on Jason’s future plans will be announced shortly.
