Jordy Burgess remains upbeat despite disappointing Rookie Superbike year with Ducati Motologic Racing. Rookie factory superbike racer Jordy Burgess has recently made comments reflecting on his first year in the Australian Superbike Class in the ASBK stating that he ‘never really felt all that comfortable’ on board the Ducati 1198R Superbike. The Runner up in the 2009 Australian Superstock 1000 Championship on board Honda equipment rode for the Ducati Motologic Racing Team in his Rookie season after only 2 years in the Australian championship in what was a large step and showed glimpses of form early however injuries and lack of seat time on board the Ducati’s for a new rider made for a disastrous campaign for 2010 and will not be on board the Ducati, nor with the team for 2011. Burgess commented after the final round of the year: “This year has really been a struggle. Gelling with the Ducati was a tough one despite the hard work from my side of the team and I found it hard to push to get results. I must say I never really felt that comfortable on the bike and look forward to getting back on a 4 cylinder machine. I did have some misfortune with crashes and injuries, having 2 bouts of surgery throughout the season, which didn’t help! But that’s just how it goes some times. It was always going to be a gamble and a big ask for me with limited experience. I am wiping the slate clean for 2011 and going to get back on with the job and have some fun. I also want to thank all of my supporters and sponsors Teterin Engineering, OGK Helmets and Sabre for their help and ongoing assistance.” Jordy Burgess is yet to commit to a team at this stage for 2011 however it has been suggested that he will be back on a superbike either in Australia or in the United States in the AMA Championships.
