After much discussion following on from the second round of the 2009 ASBK held at Symmons Plains in Tasmania, International Entertainment Group and Motorcycling Australia have some important announcements regarding the Championship series. Due to the abandonment of the second round, it has been decided that the upcoming round at Queensland Raceway will be run as a double-header. The official event will run from Thursday 28 May through to Sunday 31 May, with a schedule of events and additional entry forms to be made available on the ASBK and MA websites shortly. With regards to the second round in Tasmania, it has been decided that points for all categories which raced will stand (Superstock 1000, Superstock 600, FZ6 and 125GP/250GP Mono), and the points gained from attaining pole positions will also remain. These points will be updated on the results page of the ASBK website shortly. Round 3 at Queensland Raceway will be split into two separate rounds – Round 3a and 3b. In other Championship news, due to financial concerns raised by competitors, the suggested Western Australian round will not take place in July. A new venue for the Final Round of the Championship has yet to be determined, though the original date of 12-15 November will be retained.
