Brayden Elliott, the 2015 Australian Supersport Champion and a current competitor in the Australian Superbike Championship, is set to make his MotoAmerica Superbike debut this coming weekend at New Jersey Motorsports Park.

Elliott, age 20, will ride an Aussie Dave Racing (ADR) Motorsports Yamaha YZF-R1.

“I’m really thankful, firstly, to Dave [Anthony, ADR Motorsports Team Owner and a native of Australia] for the opportunity to compete at New Jersey Motorsports Park and putting the faith in me to ride for his team in the MotoAmerica Superbike Championship,” Elliott said via a press release. “It’s been a dream of mine since a very young age to race Internationally and something I’ve been working towards achieving, so to have the chance offered to me is fantastic. I must also thank my family for their support and for joining me on the journey to America this week.

“In my time in road racing, I’ve only ever competed on Suzukis, so to be racing on a Yamaha R1 will be a totally new experience. That, combined with learning a new track and new rules along with getting used to the racing style of the MotoAmerica Championship, will all add up to a busy weekend but something I am very much looking forward to.

“My primary aim for this week’s event will be gain as much experience as possible across many facets, focusing mainly on learning more about racing on the Superbike. I’m not putting any pressure on myself to achieve results nor do I have expectations to achieve a particular finishing position and neither do the team. Dave has offered the ride to me to gain experience and is looking to getting more Australian riders competing in America in years to come.”

Elliott’s new Yamaha was being raced this season by Johnny Rock Page, but Page and ADR Motorsports recently parted ways, according to Anthony, who did not want to comment further,

On April 26, Hemp American Media Group, a company that billed itself in a press release as a “marijuana company,” announced its sponsorship of Page for the 2016 season.

Anthony said his deal with Elliott was only for NJMP and that he is looking for ways to keep the ADR Motorsports Yamaha on the MotoAmerica grid for the remainder of the 2016 season.
