Avintia starts the season at Sepang
29/01/16 Avintia Racing MotoGP – Official Test Sepang
Avintia Racing team is on its way to Malaysia to start the 2016 winter test. Hector Barbera and Loris Baz are looking forward to ride their Ducati Demosedici GP14.2 during the three days test at Sepang International Circuit.
The 2015 Open Class Champion, Hector Barbera, has been training hard during the winter break combining some dirt-track sessions with track days at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit riding a Ducati Panigale. The Spanish rider heads to Malaysia with high motivation after his fast lap times the last time out at Jerez test, and he hopes to be closer to the Factory bikes.
Loris Baz also trained riding bikes, but he chose the ice and the snow instead of the dirt and asphalt. The French rider is looking forward to test at Sepang where he’ll have some new parts to fit better with his Desmosedici, and he wants to improve he’s feeling with the bike and the new Michelin tyres.
At Sepang all the riders of the grid will use the control ECU and unified software that is mandatory from this year. Another news at this test will be the live video coverage that will be available from Monday on the official MotoGP website at www.motogp.com.

It was a long winter, but also nice as I trained more than ever to get ready for the new season. I’m at my best physically and with more experience. I did several test on the dirt in flat-tracks, I rode with my Panigale at Valencia, I did a lot of cycling and also trained on the mountains at Andorra, so I head to Malasia at 100%. I left the last test at Jerez with high motivation and I didn’t disconnected since the season ended at Valencia. But when you enjoy your training it becomes a life style and you need to work everyday. I want to say thank you to my friend Fran, Valencia Circuit, Ducati and a big, big thank you to my team; my Team Manager Bocha and my Crew Chief Jarno, have been training with me almost everyday. The team is 100% motivated and myself even more. On Monday we start again at Sepang and finally we’ll get on the bikes for the first test of the season and everybody with the same electronics and tyres.

I’m looking forward to jump on my bike at Sepang. It was a fantastic winter as I live in the mountains and I was able to enjoy with my family and friends enjoying the snow. I trained hard with my snowbike, quad and I also did some ice races that were incredibly fun. I worked everyday at the gym and physically I feel prepared to start the winter testing at Malaysia and see how much my riding position has improved from the last test at Jerez, but also I’m curious to see where we are compared to our rivals in such a complete and technical circuit, so we would be able to figure out our goals for this season. It will be interesting with everybody using the same electronics and I think that we can be closer.
