Barbera and Baz return to action in Aragon

The Avintia Racing team heads to Alcañiz for the 14th round of the MotoGP World Championship at the MotorLand Aragon circuit this weekend. The team will be complete with both official riders, Hector Barbera and Loris Baz. The Frenchman will give his racing comeback after missing the last race at San Marino, due to the injuries on his right foot, consequence of the crash he suffered during the first lap of the British Grand Prix at Silverstone. After three weeks of intensive rehab, under the supervision of Dr. Finn Mahler’s team at the Hospital de la Tour in the Swiss city of Merin, Loris Baz will get back on his Ducati Desmosedici GP14.2 this weekend.

Hector Barbera heads to Aragon determined to fight for the Top 10 positions again. Following two difficult races at Silverstone and Misano, the Avintia Racing rider wants to get a good result in front of his home crowd at MotorLand.

Hector Barbera

“We go to Aragon in a crucial moment of the season. We need to get a good result at this race and to boost our confidence ahead the triple overseas races. I like the MotorLand circuit and I think the layout should be good for our bike. I have been training hard after Misano and I head to this race in great shape, so I hope to be competitive over the weekend and fight for the top places. We did it before, so we can do it again. We also race on home soil and the support of the fans is always good for the motivation. We are going to work hard from Friday to prepare the race in the best possible way.”

Loris Baz

“I’m not at my maximum, and the foot is still painful, but I think that I will be able to ride my bike and the doctors and my physiotherapist have the same opinion. I’ll get the final check with the doctors at the track on Thursday and I’ll take to the track on Friday and I’ll see how I feel on the bike. Since I crashed, I’ve been working constantly with my physio, with a lot of work in the swimming pool to regain motion in my foot. I improve steadily, but we have to see how I feel riding the bike. I look forward to complete a positive weekend at Aragon and try to get some points if possible, but my goal will be to get some feeling with the bike and get into the overseas triple in the best possible shape.”
