Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum is proud to announce the launch of our new web site, which will be live as of today, 7-15-09 at 10 a.m. Months in preparation, this ground-up redesign project represents the Museum’s first foray into e-commerce and features the ability to purchase Museum memberships and make donations online. “The reputation of the Museum has generated a great deal of interest in membership and souvenirs. We are pleased to give the thousands of monthly visitors we have online the opportunity to become members and shop in our online store” said Jeff Ray, Executive Director of the Museum. The site also features a home page that offers a different experience based upon the time of day you visit the site. The exterior image of the Museum featured on the home page changes from dawn to dusk, so the image you see at 10 a.m., for example, is different from the one you see at 5 p.m. The team reviewed the sites of other internationally respected museums, a process that led to the decision to start from the ground up on a new design. “Our goal was to create a site that properly positioned the Museum online as the finest facility of its kind in the world. With visitors from over 55 countries this year alone, our presence is truly world-wide,” Ray said. Means Advertising was chosen to design and oversee the construction of the new site. “We appreciate the opportunity to work on a project of this stature. The Museum has the reputation of being the best in the world. We wanted to make sure the site was consistent with the experience of visiting the Museum in person”, said Kevin Gustin, VP & Creative Director of Means Advertising in Birmingham, AL.
