Successful arm pump surgery for Hector Barbera

After three races suffering arm pump issues in his right arm the Avintia Racing rider Hector Barbera had a medical checking today in the Hospital Universitari Quirón Dexeus in Barcelona. In the morning he has undergone a nuclear magnetic resonance that showed up his arm pump problem and during this afternoon he had a successful surgery in his right forearm. The operation made by Dr. Xavier Mir has lasted 70 minutes and he used microsurgical techniques to release the extensor and flexor fascia of the right forearm. Therefore it was necessary to release the muscles that flex the wrist and fingers which extends as a double surgical incision. The Avintia Racing rider will leave the hospital in 24 hours and he will start the rehab the next week.

Dr. Mir said it was a successful surgery and the plan is to see Hector Barbera back on his Ducati in the next round of the MotoGP World Championship, the Grand Prix of Catalunya. But right now is in doubt and he’ll only know if he will be able to defend his leading in the Open Class the next week.
