RAINY DAY IN GEORGIA: NASH FOURTH IN SUPERBIKE PRACTICE

Braselton, GA (April 17, 2015) – Huntley Nash showed remarkable speed in the wet on Friday at Road Atlanta, placing fourth in MotoAmerica Superbike Practice with a late-session burner. Nash saved his best lap for last, returning to the track after a repair to his LTD Racing Ducati with six minutes to go. The Georgian then set his best mark on his final time around the 2.54-mile circuit.

“It was nice. The wet conditions made things a little different. I feel those type of conditions make it so the rider is more important than the bike, so I felt I needed to do a good job,” said Nash after his 1:41.514 lap. “This is a new project for us and very much a work in progress. I wasn’t really surprised when I had to come in to have some work done on the tail section. I went back out after it was fixed and did my fastest lap on the last time around. My tires weren’t warmed up yet, really, so I feel like there is more in it, for sure. The bike was really good. It is small and the power is smooth. It flicks well through the Esses and stops well. We don’t have any electronics stuff or wheelie control on it but it as long as you are smooth on the throttle, it is fine.”

The Marietta, GA-based Nash will qualify for Sunday’s twin 22-lap races on Saturday.

“We’re seeing how it goes really,” Nash added. “We didn’t have any set expectations coming in and I haven’t raced a Pro National in a year. I’m surprised were in front of some of the guys, actually. I’m eager to get back at it for the rest of the weekend.”
