The results are in, and Bob’s BMW is proud to announce that its Ultimate Bike Raffle raised more than $100,000 for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation (PBTF). Ticket sales and other customer contributions totaled $106,437, making Bob’s BMW the top fundraising motorcycle business at the Sept. 21 Baltimore-Washington, D.C., Ride for Kids® event. Bob Henig, avid supporter of the Ride for Kids® for over 14 years and owner of Bob’s BMW, created the Ultimate Bike Raffle with the support of many vendors, local businesses and BMW North America. A remarkable 3,284 tickets were sold to customers and supporters around the country. The lucky winner was Allen Blankenship of New York, who won a complete package consisting of a fully equipped new BMW motorcycle, head-to-toe riding apparel, and many other extras, with a total value of approximately $19,000. Twenty-four second place winners will receive prizes of riding gear and apparel. “One of the great challenges of fighting children’s diseases is the lack of funds for research at both the federal and philanthropic level, but Bob Henig is one man who means business when it comes to saving the lives of children faced with brain tumors,” says PBTF President and Ride for Kids® founder Mike Traynor. “Over the past 14 years Bob, his employees and his motorcycle customers have worked diligently to help children with brain tumors by raising over $540,000 to support the research programs of the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation.” For more information about Bob’s BMW and the Ultimate Bike Raffle, go to www.bobsbmw.com/News.html About the PBTF Ride for Kids® Since 1984, the national Ride for Kids® program and the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation (PBTF) have promoted childhood brain tumor research and provided family support through free literature about brain tumors, educational newsletters, online conferences and college scholarships. With the help of America’s motorcycling community, the PBTF has become the world’s largest non-governmental source of funding for childhood brain tumor research. The 2008 season is almost over, but it’s not too late to get in on the action. The last event of the year takes place this Sunday in Sarasota, Fla. Join in the fun and help find a cure!
