BMW Club Gets First Crack At Heartland Park Topeka’s New Road Course This Weekend

HPT READY FOR FIRST EVENT OF ’06 THIS WEEKEND TOPEKA, Kan. (March 23, 2006) – The largest and most expensive renovation in Heartland Park Topeka continues, but enough work has been completed in order for the facility to host the first event of 2006, scheduled for March 24-26. The new asphalt that will serve as the Heartland Park Topeka road course will be used for the first time by members of the Kansas City area BMW Club during their Driver’s Education event scheduled for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Gates open each day at 7 a.m. The high-performance car control clinics will run each day from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. This weekend’s event marks the first time that the Heartland Park Topeka facility schedule has stretch into the month of March. It is also the first of two events the Kansas City BMW Club has scheduled at Heartland Park Topeka for 2006. Heartland Park Topeka, a multi-purpose racing facility located in Topeka, Kan. annually hosts NHRA POWERade drag racing, the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA), and many other pro and amateur drag racing, road racing, and dirt racing events throughout the race season.
