The party goes on. The 11th BMW Motorrad Days on 13 July 2011 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Munich/Garmisch-Partenkirchen. On 13 July, Garmisch-Partenkirchen will again be firmly in the hands of BMW Motorrad, Husqvarna Motorcycles (the second motorcycle brand of the BMW Group), and their international fan community. This weekend will again see over 30,000 guests converge here from all over the world to celebrate the eleventh BMW Motorrad Days. The largest BMW Motorrad meeting in the world has now become a fixed major event in the biker scene. Anybody who has been here once, won’t miss the opportunity to be here again. This year too, the guests can expect BMW Motorrad and Husqvarna Motorcycles to present not only their model range, but also a varied support programme. Variety in its purest form. Not only the BMW Motorrad team from the World Superbike Championship will be there, but also the four times world stunt riding champion Chris Pfeiffer (41). A native of Schongau, Bavaria, he will again be thrilling onlookers with his unique motorcycle acrobatics. “I have a lot of new tricks,” he revealed. “The bounce to crosslegs, for instance, I find pretty cool. In an overhanging wheelie I brake so suddenly that I’m catapulted out of the seat and land crosswise on the rear footrests. And all this while I’m still doing the wheelie! I’m really looking forward to Garmisch, it’s an absolute highlight on my schedule.” Some things, though, don’t need an engine: Igor Obu, holder of the world long jump record at 42.11 m, and his team will be showing onlookers the stunts that can be done with a mountainbike. Yet the guests, too, can prove their skills. On an area of 10,000 square metres, the BMW Enduro Park will be offering training units on BMW GS models. On a Husqvarna X-track they can learn how offroad professionals manoeuvre their Husqvarnas at their extreme limits, and experience at first hand the potential of these vehicles on the terrain. As in the previous years, nearly all BMW Motorrad models can be booked for extensive test rides. Exclusive tours with a guide can be reserved on the internet under www.bmw-motorrad.com/testride. BMW Motorrad can also offer novices without a driving licence to try their hand at riding motorcycles on the Garmisch Olympia Stadium carpark All visitors, though, can try their hand at coming into the possession of a BMW motorcycle. This year too, there will be a raffle for two two brand new BMW motorcycles. Friday evening will decide the winner of a BMW G 650 GS, and on Saturday evening a biker can look forward to a BMW R 1200 R. Great guests with action, fun, and partying. From a spacious Radio Gong platform, the Gong presenters Viola Weiss and Stefan Galler will be hosting the programme and introducing Troy Corser, among many others. The BMW Motorrad plant pilot from the World Superbike Championship will be giving autographs and posing for photographs with motorcycle fans. Good music will be provided by prominent Gong DJs. Besides the actor Hannes Jaenicke, who will again be there at the coming BMW Motorrad Days, the globetrotter Michael Martin will be firing his audience’s wanderlust with presentations of impressive journeys on his motorcycle. Also the party atmosphere in the evening has become legendary. So this year too will see live bands and DJs charging the atmosphere on Friday and Saturday evening. The party will then be joined by Gerry & Gary on Friday evening, and Dreirad and Blechblos’n on the Saturday. Two wheeled rarities and legends. A special exhibition will be presenting the milestones of cladded BMW motorcycles from the historical BMW Classic collection. This will be complemented with the Classic Parade on the Friday, and the major Motorcycle Parade on the Saturday. The traditional bikers’ church service will be held on Sunday at noon. There’s one thing though we can all be sure about: the BMW Motorrad Days will again be catering to every taste and thrilling all ages. All you need to know about BMW Motorrad Days. The event premises lie directly next to the camping area of 15,000 square metres. Overnight guests looking for accommodation in various hotel categories are urgently recommended to make their bookings under [email protected]. Further details and soon the full programme of events can be viewed on the internet under www.bmw-motorrad.com/motorraddays and www.facebook.com/bmw.motorrad.
