Bobby Fong Returning To AMA Pro Daytona SportBike In 2012 With Meen Motorsports

Bobby Fong to race Daytona Sportbike with Meen Motorsports for 2012 Campbell, CA (February 14, 2012) – Meen Motorsports, formally GP Bike Parts Racing, announces big changes for the 2012 road racing season. Team owner Ameen Sajjadi states, “We have many new additions to the team this year, with a new rider headlining the team. With our sights set on more than one AMA championship, Bobby Fong will be riding our Yamaha R6 for 2012 and I know that Bobby will develop it into a bike that we can win on”. With a Daytona Sporbbike win, under his belt, Bobby has joined Meen Motorspots this season with a re-found gusto for the sport. “I’m really anxious to get back out there. We have good bikes and an even better crew chemistry. Personally, I have been training hard in the off season, and I feel real good. I want to be back on top more than ever. My main goal for this season is to be in the hunt for the championship by the end of the year. I just want that feeling back,” Fong comments. The team will also field, up and coming rider, Travis Ohge, of Portland Oregon, in the AMA Pro Motorcycle-SuperStore.com SuperSport series. Travis rode under the GP Bike Parts Rider’s Support Program last season, getting his first AMA Pro podium with the team at Infineon Raceway. “This is Travis’s third season in the AMA and we know he is ready to make big things happen this year,” says Ameen. Ohge comments, “I am really happy to be riding for Meen Motorsports this year. I plan to ride in the front, with my eyes set on winning a championship.” Extending its riders support program into 2012, Meen Motorsports also welcomes rider Nadr Riad who will be competing in the SuperSport series. “I am excited about this road racing season. With the team providing me with my best opportunity, of my racing career thus far, I look forward to consistently competing in every round, within the top of the SuperSport class,” Riad states. Continuing its relationship with 2010 AMA Top Gun Champion, Tyler O’Hara, Meen Motorsports will be spotlighting the rider, in the Daytona SportBike Class, for select races throughout the season. “Tyler has been an essential part to my team’s development over the last three years. We are happy to work with him again this season,” comments Ameen. The team is also pleased to announce its new relationship with Yamaha Motors USA. “Racing Yamaha’s has always given our team the opportunity to compete at the top level in the country. With their extra support this year, we look forward putting the Yamaha R6 on the box,” states Ameen.
