Bridgestone Posts Increase In Contingency For 2012 Chuckwalla Valley Motorcycle Association Season. Bridgestone announced a dramatic increase in contingency payouts for the 2012 Chuckwalla Valley Motorcycle Association season, with individual race wins now earning up to $450 in contingency money from the manufacturer and a total of $135,150 up for grabs. “CVMA did a great job in its inaugural season, and Bridgestone wanted to step up and really get behind the series,” said Tige Daane, the West Coast distributor for Bridgestone racing slicks and DOT tires. The 2012 contingency schedule released by Bridgestone today calls for a $450 payout for wins in the club’s Formula Open, Formula Middleweight and Formula Twins classes, with payouts of $150 for third in each class (contingent on the number of starters for a given race). Bridgestone also will pay $450 contingency for a win in SuperSport Open and SuperSport Middleweight, with third again paying $150. For Amateur racers at CVMA, wins in Amateur Formula Open, Formula Middleweight, Formula Twins, SuperSport Open and SuperSport Twins will pay $300, with the final podium spot earning $100. Bridgestone pointed out that these contingency payouts were per-race, and since CVMA holds sprint races on Saturdays and Sundays, the winner of the top-dollar races could take home up to $900 in contingency payouts in each class, every weekend. Bridgestone will continue to support each class that CVMA runs, including the Sunday-only Shootouts and the one-hour Team Challenge endurance race on Saturday evenings. Bridgestone offers DOT-approved race tires for a wide variety of road racing machines, and offers slicks for race bikes ranging from 125cc GP machines to literbikes. Easily accessible from the Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Phoenix metropolitan areas, the 2.68-mile Ed Bargy-designed course was created with motorcycle road racing in mind.
