Following his accident at the official Bennetts British Superbike Championship test day at Snetterton on Thursday 17th May, Be Wiser Ducati rider Shane ‘Shakey’ Byrne remains in Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital where he continues to be treated for his injuries.

The six-times and reigning champion is conscious and in good spirits and has been regularly visited by his wife Petra and children Zack and Lilly, as well as close friends and family.

He has been communicating with friends and other competitors via social media and other communication means and gave a lengthy update as to his condition via Twitter at the weekend.

As well as listing his injuries, Shakey thanked everyone for their support.

Both the Be Wiser Ducati Team as well as Shane and his family are appreciative of the concern and well-wishing from fans and friends, so whilst visiting restrictions are in place, messages of goodwill and support for Shane can be sent to [email protected] or to [email protected].

You can follow Shane on Twitter or Instagram @67shakey where he regularly posts updates and further official information from the PBM Be Wiser Ducati team will be issued in due course.
