MASON LAW STEPS UP TO BSB WITH WD-40 KAWASAKI FOR 2018

Essex rider Mason Law will contest the 2018 British Superbike Championship aboard the #55 Kawasaki ZX-10RR for Sheffield-based GR Motosport.

After a successful first season in the litre class, the 22-year-old from Benfleet has signed a deal to move up from The STAUFF QUICK CONNECT ACADEMY to the TEAM WD-40 Superbike.

Mason’s move up to BSB is a continuation of the success of GR’s ethos to develop young talent through the Stauff Quick Connect Academy to the highest levels of Motorcycle Sport, whilst continuing our long associations title Sponsors WD-40 and STAUFF UK for the 12-round Televised series. Its also testament to the success of Kawasaki’s Team Green, which Mason has been a part of his entire motorcycling career to date!

Mason Law, “First of all, it’s nice that I can remain within the GR Motosport family and also with Kawasaki UK for my first crack at the British Superbike Championship,” he explained “I’ve come all the way from 250cc Motocross to British Superbike with Kawasaki, which is testament to my belief in their racing machinery and hopefully vice-versa. BSB is the pinnacle at British Championship level racing, so we have to be realistic coming into my rookie season.

“I have a lot to learn, but on a positive note, the fundamentals of the ZX-10RR are just the same, and I’m confident that the experience I gained last season in the Superstock 1000 class, will afford me a bit of a foot-up.”

In closing, the former 250cc Junior Cup and Stock 600 champion said: “I’m not daunted by the challenge even though the series is packed with top class riders, but I’m not going to be disrespectful and make any rash predictions. It’s an interesting project for both myself and everyone at GR Motosport and the WD40 Kawasaki British Superbike Team. In truth, we are all buzzing with excitement at the prospect of getting started.”

Mason looks to Team WD-40 Superbike Ross Burridge, Senior Racing Co-ordinator for Kawasaki Motors UK “Mason has been an amazing advocate of Team Green and what it represents. We are committed to encouraging and nurturing young talent, and this shines through with Mason, his story and his history with us. Stepping up to the Superbike class is a big move, but I know it is one he will be able to handle. With an excellent testing programme in place and a great team behind him, I am sure it won’t be long before he achieves the results he is aspiring too. We wish him and the team all the best for the 2018 season. 2018 is a very exciting prospect for Team Green.”

Brent Gladwin: “2018 is going to be a good year for GR Motosport, we started working with Mason last year, and it quickly became evident to Geoff and I that he could be the first of our riders from the STAUFF Quick Connect Academy to earn a place on the Superbike. Mason is not only a great rider but he is a personable guy who is commercially astute which gives good prospects for the future. We have a two-year plan that will see Mason quickly rise through the BSB ranks! Now we are working on a replacement for Masons seat on The STAUFF Quick Connect Academy’s race winning Kawasaki ZX-10RR Superstock 1000.”
