Silva Sets Record CCS Florida – Jupiter, FL May 27, 2013 Bruno Silva won the first and last races of the day during CCS Florida’s Memorial Day event May 27 at Palm Beach International Raceway, setting a motorcycle lap record and personal record.

During the GTO race, Silva nailed an early lead and battled up front with Sean Dwyer with each rider breaking the lap record. Dwyer turned the fastest time first with a 1:16.4, and on the next lap, Silva was just two tenths of a second faster, setting a new record of 1:16.2 on his Kawasaki ZX-10R. Silva had to work his way through traffic in the Unlimited Grand Prix race to take over the lead from holeshot winner and early front-runner, Felipe MacLean on his Kawasaki ZX-10R. By lap two, Silva was out front and leading the way. He finished without further challenge. Dwyer maneuvered his way into second place, and MacLean finished third. On the podium, Silva exclaimed, “I want to thank God because my recovery was so quick and so good.”

He injured his shoulder during a crash two weeks earlier at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

“I want to thank my family for all their support, my dad, my mom, all my brothers, and my wife is here too!” Silva continued. “I want to say thanks to Eric Gray for getting this bike back together. Every time I come to the track, I really go fast. He always makes the bike perfect for me. It feels set up and he knows his stuff. I want to thank Leon and Pirelli tires, because he always provides the best tires for us and I’m really happy. Thanks Allan for the nice job on the motor, and Julian Martinez for his support too. A special thank to Leon Eddins and Pirelli Tires, for trusting my ridding, and always bringing me always the best setup for tires! My first race ever was at the end of 2009. So, almost 4 years later to win the shootout and break the lap record is amazing!” The next CCS Florida round is scheduled for Homestead-Miami Speedway on June 22-23rd.
