BSB Champ Byrne Leaving GSE Racing To Compete In 2009 Superbike World Championship

GSE Racing and Shane Byrne have today (28th September 2008) announced that Shane will be moving on from the team to pursue aspirations in the World Superbike Championship in 2009. Shane, who joined GSE Racing for the 2008 British Superbike season, expressed his thanks to the team with whom he has so far enjoyed 8 victories on his way to championship glory saying, “My season with Airwaves Ducati and GSE Racing has been incredible and I would like to extend my thanks to everyone involved who has played a part in our championship winning year. I wish the team well in what is sure to be an exciting and equally successful future ahead”. Team Manager Colin Wright commented, “On behalf of the whole of the Airwaves Ducati team and GSE Racing I would like to thank Shane for a fantastic year. It has been a pleasure to work alongside Shane on the way to a fourth championship win for GSE Racing and we wish him all the best for 2009 and beyond.”
