Reigning British Superbike Champion Tommy Hill, will be in action at Thundersprint 2012 – which will be held over the weekend of May 12/13 in Northwich, Cheshire, Town Centre. Tommy is a big fan of the Thundersprint and had a personal message for his tens of thousands of fans. He said: “Racing my Swan Yamaha in British Superbike is a serious business so it will be great to have a weekend off, doing what I love best being with race fans and having a good time on a bike. “I’ve been to the Thundersprint before and I was blown away with the size of the crowd and their enthusiasm. The only thing wrong was that I didn’t have a bike to ride! “This time Wigan Yamaha are lending me an R1, painted up in Swan Yamaha colours too, so I can join the fun on the track. I’ll also be riding in the Cavalcade and I’ll be around all the time to meet you personally. “Make sure that you come across to the Yamaha truck and say hello. There’s no keep out signs, or VIP areas, and I’ll be really looking forward to seeing you.” Rob Ocego, from Wigan Yamaha, was delighted to have the amiable superstar aboard one of his bikes. Rob said: “We love Tommy’s all action riding style and we’re going to put together something really nice for him to ride even though we know he will only be having a bit of a play on the track rather than racing.” Thundersprint organiser Frank Melling was all smiles at the thought of having the current British Champion riding in the Thundersprint. “We’re big fans of Tommy. Not only is he a brilliant rider but his courtesy and warmth towards fans and the general public is outstanding. “Tommy is a true man of the people and perfect for the Thundersprint. We’re really looking forward to welcoming him to the world’s only Grand Prix in a car park.” For more information visit www.thundersprint.com or phone 01928 740 498 between 9am and 8pm.
