What does 350.884 MPH on two wheels feel like? World-record setting speed, for one. Two Motorcycle Hall of Fame inductees teamed up last week and set the new absolute motorcycle land-speed record at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah during the AMA/FIM International Motorcycle Speed Trials by BUB. Chris Carr, who was inducted into the Motorcycle Hall of Fame in 2004, piloted BUB’s No.7 streamliner to the record by running a two pass 350.884 MPH average. The streamliner was built by Denis Manning, who will be inducted into the Motorcycle Hall of Fame this October. The legendary run by Carr will place him in the Guinness Book of World Records for the fastest motorcycle ride ever. Speed freaks can check out the No. 7 streamliner at the Charity Newsies Dirt Track race in Columbus, Ohio on September 23. Afterward the streamliner heads for the Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum in Pickerington, Ohio where it will remain on display through October 7. In addition to the No. 7 streamliner, Denis Manning will be at the Museum for the Hall of Fame ceremonies the weekend of October 6 and 7. Chris Carr is expected to find room in his heavy travel schedule to join Manning for the ceremonies. All Hall of Fame events are open to the public, allowing fans the opportunity to meet the designer and driver of the fastest machine on two wheels.
