CALIFORNIA ROADRACE ASSOCIATION 2023 SEASON OPENER (ROUND 1)

Buttonwillow, CA

California Roadrace Association (CRA) will kick off the 2023 season at Buttonwillow Raceway Park (BRP) on February 11-12.

The well-known configuration 13 (clockwise direction) will be used for Round 1. CRA will  run its usual weekend format:  qualifying for grid position; 8-lap sprints; and the 16-20 lap GT races.

To add to the excitement, CRA will be choosing various classes each round to race a “double header” – on both Saturday and Sunday.  Additionally, CRA will be following in the footsteps of MotoAmerica by offering a “Hooligans class” — CRA Ruffians and will expand on the American Iron classes.

CRA has become known for the “Pro Start” featured in the CTML Consultants Gold Cup as well as the post race podium celebrations for various classes.

On Saturday night, CRA will be hosting an awards dinner track side. All of the 2022 class champions will be recognized along with CRA’s #1-10 overall club champions.

Carrying over for the 2023 season, every licensed CRA racer will receive a swag bag which includes a custom CRA-branded VNM Sport base layer, CRA t-shirt, CRA hat, CRA decals, and information about club sponsors including discounts and services.

“Our objective is to give back — not just to our members but to the entire racer community,” said Gigi Chow, CRA co-founder, “We are looking forward to an amazing 2023 season!”

Registration for Round 1 is open and CRA is ready to get back into action and grow the sport of road racing one racer at a time.
