Keene, Ontario. October 12, 2008. It is with great pride team owner Gary Christie of Roz-GarRacing is able to announce the acceptance of their championship winning rider Jodi Christie AM #14 of Keene Ontario into the Red Bull US Rookies Cup 2009 Team The tryouts were held at Barber Motorsports Park near Birmingham Alabama on October 3, 4 and 5th of 2008. The riders rode identically prepared Metrakit GP 125 two strokes The 16 turn 2.38 mile circuit is of the nicest tracks in America, Jodi was picked from the original group of 400 riders, the next cut was for 117 riders to try out in two split groups on Saturday and Sunday. Each evening 18 riders were chosen to tryout in the final selection on the Monday. The groups on Monday rode in two sessions. From this group 14 riders were to be chosen for the 2009 team. Jodi rode the bike through quite a bit of adversity as the suspension was set up for a much lighter rider, the suspension front and rear was on bottom pretty much the whole time and Jodi said all it wanted to do was crash. He saved it many times through his sessions from low and highsides, he still managed to come in with a smile on his face exclaiming “that’s as fast as that bike will go with me on it.” Jodi and crew would like to thank Stuart Nodell and Vicki Schouten for there encouragement to sign up for the tryouts They would also like to thank Roland and Kenny Reidman for lending them a 125 Honda GP bike to familiarize Jodi with this style of riding. Jodi is excited with the opportunity this series can provide for him and would like to send a big thank you to all who have supported him this past year.
