Following a 2009 season which saw 17 yr old Brett “The Kid” McCormick dominate the Canadian Superbike series, crossing the finish line first in 5 of 7 races and setting the lap record at every track, the economic hardships that are hitting the motorcycle industry so hard see Suzuki Canada and Blackfoot Motosports unable to support Brett for the 2010 season. Having complete confidence in his abilities as one of the best superbike racers in North America, Brett will be putting his own money behind a serious attempt at the American Superbike title in the DMG/AMA series. Backed by the same incredible Picotte Performance race team, Brett will race his 2009 Ohlins equipped GSX-R 1000 starting in two weeks time at the opening round in Daytona March 3-5th. Preparations are also underway to have Brett race in the prestigious Daytona 200 on his Ohlins equipped GSX-R 600. Brett is looking forward to the great challenge of proving himself. “It’s tough after a stellar year to not have a ride this year, but I guess at this point in my career it’s time to prove myself on a bigger stage, and the States is obviously the place to do that. I know Pascal and the guys are a world class team, so I plan on running at the front!” Pascal is equally excited to be on board, and feels Brett and the team have what it takes to be competitive at that next level.”Last season was really special, not only in what was achieved on the track, but the great bonding of the guys on the team. All the guys didn’t hesitate in the chance to work together again this year. Once people see what we can accomplish hopefully the support will follow that allows Brett and the team to be successful in the DMG/AMA.”
