December 4, 2008 (Santa Cruz, CA) The Syndicate, the newly formed management group of industry insider Michael “Murph” Murphy, announced today that Chris Peris has signed an agreement for athlete representation. Additionally, Chris will participate in the three day Dunlop Daytona tire test as the newest member of the championship winning Erion Honda Race team. Chris Peris literally traveled around the world to earn a factory ride with Erion Racing in the Daytona Sportbike class for the 2009 and 2010 AMA seasons. The 21 year-old Canadian roadracer spent the past four years racing in Europe, New Zealand, Canada and America on a wide variety of machines and tires, always with the goal of racing for an American factory foremost in mind. “This is what I’ve worked for,” Peris stated, “To sign with Erion and Honda makes all the travel and effort worthwhile.” The ’08 season produced Peris’s first AMA podium in 1000cc SuperStock with ESP Racing, most notable for its complete lack of factory support, and for Chris’s ability to constantly battle for the podium against better-backed efforts. Peris was not only finishing races, but was consistently challenging for the front row in qualifying, showing he had the speed as well as the consistency. Erion Racing and Honda took note and signed Peris to a two-year deal, putting Chris on the same level of equipment Jake Zemke took to the ’08 AMA Formula Extreme title. “Kevin Erion has won championships as a rider and team owner,” said Peris. “He knows what it takes. Getting a chance to compete on an Erion-built Honda is a fantastic opportunity because I’ll be on a bike that is capable of winning. Dunlop will be the spec tire in the series and I ran Dunlops last year on the 1000 and loved them, so to say I’m excited is the understatement of the year. I can’t wait for Daytona!”
