Jodi Christie re-signs with Honda Canada to defend Canadian Superbike Championship
Keene, ON — Jodi Christie will contest the 2015 Mopar Canadian Superbike Championship aboard Honda equipment, riding a Honda CBR1000RR SP in the Pro Superbike class and a Honda CBR600RR in the Pro Sport Bike class. This year will be the Keene, ON rider’s seventh year riding Hondas in the CSBK series, a partnership that has so far resulted in three consecutive Pro Sport Bike championships (2011-2013) and Christie’s first Canadian Superbike Championship in 2014.
Preparations are already underway for the 2015 season; once again the Hondas will be prepared by John Sharrard at Accelerated Technologies in Buckhorn, ON with support from a variety of aftermarket suppliers. The season begins in June at Calabogie Motorsports Park near Ottawa, ON, a venue that returns to the schedule after an absence of several years. The full schedule, which features an event at Castrol Raceway in Edmonton, AB for the first time, is included below.
Jodi Christie: “I am so happy to share the news that I will be defending my No. 1 plate on a Honda this year. I know that we will be a dominant team; with the same crew members the team should work really well together. I have been with Honda since 2009 and I know we have a strong relationship with them. With the support of Honda, Accelerated Technologies and all of our great sponsors, I know we will have an amazing season. I look forward to throwing a leg over my new Hondas this spring!”
Derek Verheyen — National Sales Manager, MC & ATV, Honda Canada: “On behalf of all associates here at Honda Canada, we all truly excited to have Jodi Christie back on a Honda for the 2015 CSBK season. Jodi has been in our family for a long time and we have built a strong, successful relationship together over the years. He is a great ambassador for our brand and is capable of winning every time he is on the track. I look forward to a great year for Honda and Jodi in the Canadian series. This is a new venture for Jodi and now he must defend his Superbike title. It will be an action-packed thriller for the fans.”
John Sharrard — Crew Chief, Accelerated Technologies: “We are thrilled here at Accelerated Technologies that Jodi has re-signed with Honda. We look forward to working with the exciting new CBR1000RR SP as we prepare Jodi’s Superbikes for our first title defence of the CSBK Pro Superbike National No. 1 plate that we earned with Jodi and Honda last year. We are very grateful that Honda has increased their support with us this year, which will help us prepare even faster Superbikes and 600s as we also shoot to regain our Pro Sportbike No. 1 plate that we held for the previous three years.”
