Szoke Claims His Fourth National Trials Championship “I want these three championships bad, real bad.” says current Canadian National Superbike Championship points leader and Kelso Conservation Area Mountain Bike Series points leader Jordan Szoke. “To hold three championships in three different disciplines in one season would be unheard of, but I intend to make it happen.” A bold statement, but one holding weight as multi talented Jordan Szoke already holds 17 titles to his credit throughout his 15 year career. Szoke hung the first #1 plate of the season on the wall this afternoon after a few long days delay in official results from the CMA Sanctioned National Observed Trials Championship. The event was hosted in the picturesque county of Arden, Ontario Canada over the July 13th – 14th weekend. “I always love coming to Dave Southam’s property.” says Szoke “We had an extremely busy schedule, but we were definitely going to make this one happen. I wouldn’t have missed it for anything, I absolutely love riding here.” On day one, Szoke had to settle for runner up to his fellow Trials des Nations, and trials demonstrations teammate Dan Johnson. A win on Sunday was the only option Szoke had if he wanted to repeat his National Trials Championship. “Dan is riding so amazing this year, he is really making it fun and challenging to compete together.” smiles Szoke. “We have been elevating our game so much it’s going to be a barn burner when we get together to do our last Bulls and Bikes Demonstration this weekend.” With Sunday’s sections modified, the Arden spectators witnessed an amazing prequel to what the observers can expect to see in September when our Canadian Trial des Nations competitors Jordan Szoke, Dan Johnson and Jonathan English invade France. Big steps, tricky steep and rocky climbs tested our three riders skills to the max as the teammates rode together as competitors here in Canada. Szoke rose to the occasion and ended up on the top of the box. “I rode really well today.” says an elated Szoke. “Regardless of how the results play out, we all really had a great time here and pushed each other to ride better each and every loop.” With a win and a second for both Szoke and Johnson, the 2013 CMA Rule Book had to be referenced to deliberate the tiebreaker. “I would really like to thank Bob Billyard and Ossa for giving me such an amazing team bike to ride this year.” says Szoke. “I am really happy to be able to return the favor by following up their support with a championship.” Watch for Jordan Szoke representing Team Canada at the Trials De Nations in La Chatre, France on September 8, 2013.
