Dunlop Continues Spec Tire Deal for Mopar CSBK Canadian Nationals

Toronto, ON  –  November 20, 2019  –  Dunlop Motorcycle Tires have agreed to extend their support of the Mopar CSBK Canadian National motorcycle roadracing Championship through the completion of the 2022 racing season.  Toronto, ON based CSBK organizers Professional Motorsports Productions are proud to confirm the continuation of their “spec tire” arrangement with Dunlop, handled by Canadian Distributor Pro 6 Racing in Toronto, ON.

The CSBK Series will celebrate the 40th Anniversary of National Superbike racing in Canada during the 2020 Championship season, with a full schedule announced shortly.

Dunlop have served as the Official Tire of the Mopar CSBK Series since 2014, with a range of both slick and DOT type tires exclusively available through Pro 6 at each venue on the National tour.  Dunlop have also served as the control tire for the American National Series since 2009.

“We are proud of Dunlop’s contribution to the ongoing growth of the National Championship tour in Canada,” explained Mike Buckley, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Dunlop Motorcycle Tires.  “We are pleased with the status of the CSBK series, the performance of the racers on our tires, and our involvement on the Canadian National and Club scene.  It’s a logical step to continue our positive relationship with CSBK.”

As well as providing spec tires for each of the five National classes on the Mopar CSBK Championship, Dunlop also support special initiatives including the use of Qualifying “Q” tires at selected events, including the final season event at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, formerly Mosport International, near Bowmanville, ON.

“Since we began providing Dunlop tires for the CSBK Series in 2014, we’ve been fortunate to work with the top riders and steadily improve our product,” explained Pro 6 Owner Sandy Noce.  “We have some strong concepts for the future of CSBK, and everyone with Dunlop is looking forward to ongoing product development and superior performance.”

BMW Motorrad’s Ben Young of Collingwood, ON, earned his first career overall number one plate with success in the featured Pro Superbike category in 2019.  Will Hornblower of Sarnia, ON, also used Dunlop slicks on his Bickle Racing Yamaha YZF-R6 on his way to the Liqui Moly Pro Sport Bike National crown.

“We’re very proud of our ongoing, co-operative relationship with Dunlop, and I think we have worked very well together for the past six seasons,” explained CSBK Series boss Colin Fraser.  “We are looking forward to a great 40th Anniversary celebration in 2020, and Dunlop are a big part of the amazing history of Canadian motorcycle road racing.”

“I think Dunlop have responded well to the various challenges you face as a spec race tire supplier, and we couldn’t ask for a better partner,” confirmed Fraser.” We’re looking forward to continuing future growth with Dunlop’s help.”

Dunlop Motorcycle Tires and Pro 6 Racing will confirm the tire selection available for Pro and Amateur competitors for the 2020 Mopar CSBK Series during the upcoming winter Motorcycle Show season in Canada.
