The details for the broadcast schedule of further episodes staged at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park near Bowmanville, ON, in August will be announced shortly.

These two Calabogie races mark the delayed start of the 40th annual National Superbike season in Canada.

The Covid-19 pandemic halted the planned 2020 program, and until July it was not clear that any CSBK events could take place this season, with or without spectators. Eventually an agreement with Track Day and motorcycle Racing School Provider Pro 6 Cycle of Toronto, ON, allowed CSBK organizers Professional Motorsports Productions to stage an abbreviated season, focused on the premier category.

National, Regional and Municipal guidelines ensured that spectator attendance was not permitted during any 2020 CSBK National events.

The two Superbike Feature races, presented by I.B.E.W. and sponsored by Williams Paving, marked the first full-schedule CSBK event at Calabogie since 2015.  The Calabogie venue is a competitor favourite, the undulating 5.05-kilometer-long (3.14 miles) has twenty turns in a wide range of configurations and offering the longest lap time in the 40-year history of the CSBK Series.

Canada General Warranty Kawasaki’s Jordan Szoke of Lynden, ON, the 13-time Canadian Superbike Champ, was the pre-season favourite heading into the abbreviated four race 2020 tour.  Joining Szoke at the front of the field at Calabogie were the BMW’s of Michael Leon, Jeff Williams, and rookie Pro Samuel Guerin, as well as Suzuki’s Trevor Daley and the 2019 Team of the Year Turcotte Performance Kawasaki piloted by Sebastien Tremblay.
