Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Toronto ON – March 1, 2018 – Each of the seven rounds of the 2018 MOPAR Canadian Superbike Championship will air on TSN in special 30 minute highlight episodes. This is the third consecutive season that the CSBK series will air on TSN, Canada’s Sport Leader. CSBK first appeared on TSN in 1995.

Each of 2018’s seven Feature races will be shown in a half hour episode, “Dalton Timmis Insurance presents Mopar CSBK On TSN.” Each episode will feature one race for the Featured Pro Superbike category. The programs will be shown as soon as the weekend following each National round, although some adjustments will be required due to the upcoming World Cup of Soccer.

“Last season was a strong one for CSBK on TSN, and we are excited to have the opportunity to build on that excitement with TSN,” explained CSBK television series Executive Producer Michael Taylor of Multiple Media Entertainment. “Continuity within the TSN networks means we have a strong opportunity to continue to build our audience and attract new fans to Canada’s only national road racing tour. Our existing fans have also done a great job of establishing the CSBK Championship on TSN.”

Frank Wood, long time official series voice and moto journalist, will continue to host each episode of coverage on TSN. Executive Editor Judah Purcell celebrates his tenth year leading post production, with Derreck Roemer returning as Director of Photography for Dalton Timmis Insurance presents Mopar CSBK on TSN.

“We are really fortunate to have such a strong production team, great shooters, a group that makes sure all the action of the series makes it to the screen,” confirms race series Director Colin Fraser. “We’ve really benefitted from the advancement in equipment, and the on-board cameras courtesy of Drift have really enhanced our TSN broadcasts.”

Reigning National Superbike Champ Jordan Szoke of Lynden, Ontario, won six of seven rounds last season, and is the favourite heading into the opener at Shannonville Motorsport Park May 25-27, riding his Express Lane BMW S1000RR Superbike. Challengers are expected to include Ben Young of Collingwood, Ontario, and Canadian Tire Motorsport Park breakout star Samuel Trepanier of St-Isidore-de-Laprairie, Quebec.

Trepanier is looking for his first National Feature victory in his third season as a Pro, having joined the regular front runners during 2017. “Blysk Racing had a great season last year,” says Trepanier, “and we’re looking to build on our momentum next summer, and establish a place up front.”

Coverage of various races within the Mopar CSBK rounds is also available on the official series website, www.csbk.ca. For the past five years, the CSBK web site has provided full, flag-to-flag coverage of each Mopar Pro Superbike race and every Liqui Moly Pro Sport Bike Final, as well as selected other events. Sponsorship support from Dalton Timmis Insurance, Mopar, Magneti Marelli and official tire supplier Dunlop provides the backing for assorted video coverage, delivered by Professional Motorsports Productions of Toronto, ON.
