KERSHAW , S.C. – Carolina Motorsports Park announced today the launch of the Palmetto Motorsports Club. The club is designed to create easy track access to allow the novice driver or rider to get started and allow the experienced driver to test and tune and get more track time in a safe, fun and controlled environment. Members can enjoy their performance vehicles or bikes and practice their skills while spending time with like minded individuals that share a passion for speed and adrenaline. “We’re looking at giving our customers the opportunity to be able to enjoy the track on a regular basis at a reasonable cost,” Said Joe Hooker, one of the track’s owners. ” By creating the Palmetto Motorsports Club we can reduce two of the biggest barriers of entry into motorsports: Track access and cost. The most difficult part of not only getting started but also practicing your skills is finding affordable track time.” “We’re trying to create an atmosphere where our members can leave the office early, come to the track to spend a few hours lapping and still be home for dinner, or better yet, they can just take the day off and play on the track ,” Hooker added. The club offers three different levels of memberships for both cars and motorcycles. There are no daily or track usage fees . The premium level offers 52 full days on track a year plus an impressive list of benefits such as use of the driver’s lounge, day garages and kart track access, just to name a few. The Palmetto Motorsports Club will open its doors on January 1, 2008, but is starting pre-sales for memberships immediately. The club is waiving the initiation fee for the first 50 memberships. Those that take advantage of the 2007 pre-sales will receive five bonus track days this year as well as significant discounts on 2008 dues. The first bonus day is scheduled on Friday, October 5. For a full list of benefits and pricing for each level of membership, please go to www.palmettomotorsportsclub.com or www.carolinamotorsportspark.com .
