Qualifying Michelin Team Pro Series Round 7 Sanctioned by ASRA Virginia International Raceway Alton, VA Carpenter, McFadden and Kcraget Qualifying Capture Pole Positions At VIR for Michelin Pro Series Alton, VA First on the track for the Michelin Pro Series qualifying was SuperStock and Scott Carpenter left no doubt he was serious as he put his Ron Ayers/KWS Suzuki 1000 on the pole for Sunday’s final. Next to him will be fellow Suzuki riders Tim Bemisderfer, Paul DeCouto and the BMW of Eric Helmbach. Carpenter credited his Michelin tires as the advantage he needed hold off Bemisderfer for the pole. In Michelin Pro SportBike it’s Nick McFadden of Owensboro KY on his Suzuki 600 that will start from pole position on his Kawasaki 600. Joining McFadden on the front row is Dan Heverly on a Honda 600, Jon Couch on his Suzuki 600 and the final spot went the Kawasaki 600 of Matt Brown. The last session to roll out was the Michelin Pro ThunderBike and it was no surprise when Virginia resident Brian Kcraget appeared on the top of the qualifying board. Kcraget put his Dunlop-shod TOBC Suzuki 650 on the pole ahead of current championship leader Walt Sipp’s Buell by just over 2 seconds. Third spot went to the Ducati rider Robert Buroker and rounding out the front row is Darrell Emerson on his Suzuki 650. For the Amateur Michelin classes, it was Brad Plemmons on pole for SuperStock, Anne Roberts topped the SportBikes and Ervin Kollek was fastest in ThunderBike.
