FREDDY CARSWELL WERA (Open/A) Superbike National Challenge Champion, ANTHONY GIANGRASSO CCS South East Unlimited GP, Unlimited Superbike Champion

Asheville, NC – Superbike Unlimited’s riders Freddy Carswell and Anthony Giangrasso have won the WERA (Open/A) Superbike National Challenge Championship and the CCS South East Unlimited GP, Unlimited Superbike Championships respectively, aboard their 2015 Yamaha YZF-R1s in what has been their first year racing in the Expert class. Freddy finished the season with two wins and thirteen podiums, with his focus being the Superbike National Challenge series. Giangrasso finished the season with eleven podiums and four wins.

Superbike Unlimited shop Manager Justin Wheeler commented, “This has been a challenging year for us, but we’ve been very excited to see Anthony and Freddy step up to the challenge. The new YZF-R1 has certainly been a pleasure to work with and our wide array of in-stock race parts has made testing and developing the already capable bike a far less daunting task. We’re very excited to have secured not only this national expert championship, but also two CCS regional expert championships with these guys who have just stepped up to their rookie year as expert racers. We also secured the Novice WERA (Open/A) Superstock National Challenge Championship championship with Steve Incledon, who’s shown a lot of promise this year. Now, we look forward to next year and hope to enjoy continued success on the race track.”

“Initially our intentions this year were to get up to speed in the Expert class,” said Freddy. “However, Anthony and I quickly realized we could be competitive and we both decided to really push towards winning our respective championships. This season has been full of ups and downs but we’ve both had a blast and it’s been great to ride with such a talented team mate and competitors. Securing these championships has made it all worth it. We can’t wait to see what next year’s racing season holds.”

“We’d like to thank so many great companies for working with our team this year” said Freddy. “We’ve done our best to represent Superbike Unlimited and our supporters, Sportbike Track Time, Apex Manufacturing, Vesrah, Ohlins, Aliant, Graves Motorsports, Lightech, TAW Performance, 39N Racing, Pilot leathers and our Ohlins suspension technician, Brad Stokes. It will be a lot of fun going to the GNF with a secured championship and nothing but some great racing with Anthony and all of the WERA guys.”
