Fort Worth, TX: April 5, 2011 The Championship Cup Series will be at Carolina Motorsports Park in Kershaw, South Carolina, April 9th & 10th for another action-packed weekend of motorcycle road racing. It is a Twin Sprints “double racing” event – the entire 40+ classes will run on Saturday and then turn right around for a complete repeat on Sunday. This gruelling schedule is the ultimate test for both man and machine with only the creme de la creme attaining victory. Joining CCS will be the ASRA Michelin Pro Team Challenge Series for its 2nd round of endurance racing this season. The Team Challenge race is scheduled to run on Sunday afternoon. The schedule also includes the new Rookies Challenge Cup, first introduced at Roebling Road Raceway in March, which will run once on Sunday. “This class was formed for individuals who have less than one year as licensed racers.”, said Kevin Elliott, owner of CCS. “It gives them the opportunity to run a single race with others having similar racing experience.” He added, “The Rookies Cup Challenge is split into 3 classes: GTO, GTU and GT Lights to cover many different bike configurations, and it follows the same rules as our regular GT classes. Interested competitors can register for the Rookies Cup Challenge at the track by using a special post-entry form.” Aaron Stevenson’s Cornerspeed will host the pre-event racer practice and licensing clinic on Friday, April 8th. Participants will be allowed to enter the paddock after purchasing their gate pass beginning on Thursday afternoon. Registration for racers will open on Friday.
