TEAM WILMAX SET FOR SEASON OPENER Team Wilmax enters its second season in the buoyant Spanish CEV Buckler Moto2 series with a three man team mixing the experience and knowledge of 33 year old former WSS rider Miguel Praia from Portugal, with the youth and raw enthusiasm of 19 year old Italian Federico D’Annunzio and 17 year old Argentinian Carlos Cejas. During pre-season tests, Praia’s experience at WSB and WSS level have helped the Wilmax team quickly improve the base set-up of the new 2012 spec Harris Moto2 machine. D’Annunzio, who finished third in the 2011 Italian CIV Moto2 Championship and Cejas, who won the 2011 Argentinian Superstock B Championship have also fitted in rapidly with the experienced team of Wilmax technicians, who have come from a variety of MotoGP, Superbike and Supersport backgrounds. The 2012 Harris Moto2 machine features a number of key chassis and suspension developments, along with revised bodywork and weight distribution changes. “With new riders and a new machine we believe that we have what it takes to become a main contender in this year’s CEV Buckler Moto2 Championship,” says Wilmax team manager Anna Hamkens. “This is the second year of our three year plan. We aim to improve throughout 2012, take in some wildcard entries at world level and then step up to a full World Moto2 campaign in 2013.” Round one of the 2012 CEV Buckler Moto2 Championship takes place at the Circuito de Jerez in southern Spain on Sunday April 1st.
